Jesse Hines – Bowie Knife Twin A high performance Twin + 1 Fishy option for groveling summertime pockets. This design was in collaboration with Pro Surfer Jesse Hines. Jesse wanted a summertime fish that feels like a fish but surfs like a shortboard. This is classic Jesse Hines. What we did was take a board like our Bowie Knife that is really a 1 board quiver and tweaked it. We straightened out the back half the board going into the fish tail instead of the wide round. Whenever you change one thing you have to counter the other, so we slightly widened the nose. We can make this board as a pure twin, 5 fin, or what most people prefer Twin + 1. Jesse Dims – 5’3 x 19.75″ x 2.38″ ~28L
Beautiful yet Deadly A perfect combination of asethetic grace and lethal versatility. Possibly the one board quiver, that you can take anywhere, ride anything. Originally designed to be a forgiving small wave rocket, upon further testing we discovered this design to perform extremely well as a bigger wave tube shooter. This board has a forgiving rocker, a generous outline curve, and a fuller rail. Making this board super user friendly, even to those not used to riding shortboards. The Bowie is a main stay in our line up of boards and will continue to be for years to come. This board comes stock with 2 x cedar wood stringers running parallel down the board for extra strength and durability. Clear with Volan foot patch is highly recommended.
Brody Egg The classic egg, the name comes from one of our best buddies Brody Shockley, who at the time wanted something fast and easy to ride to help him be able to get out and catch more waves and surf more days. We tried to take all the elements of the classic egg and give it some modern updates to help separate our egg from the rest. Think classic speed trimmer with modern day foam foils and bottom contours. Key Features: Super clean outline, hard to replicate. Clean curves have always been our brand, they just seem to work. Super flat rocker, made to surf even the smallest mushiest of conditions. Pulled in Pin tail give this board some speed control and range in waves that might not make sense at first for the board but will surprise you. Intentional foam under chest for extra paddle power almost like a fish or gun. Full soft rails with a tuck, nothing pinched or catchy. Shallow Single / Double concave adds a spicy modern feel to an old school design. (Weight / Skill Depending) Ex. 7’0 Brody pairs with a 7”-8” Fin (Weight / Skill Depending) means lighter weighted rider or more skilled rider go with the lower end of fin depth. Heavier weight or less skilled go on the upper end of fin depth. Less fin = Loose/Easy to turn. More fin = More Drive / Hold Whos this for? All Skill Levels, Beginner to Pro Wave Size? 1/2 ft – 4 feet, Loves just about any style wave under 4ft. Hows this compared to other models in same category? This board will be the best low end range mid length we offer. More grovel capabilities than the Magic Matt and the Brody HP. Every time someone asks about what mid length they should start out on I recommend this board. It a great board for longboarders coming down in size but still want that flow. It's good surfers that want to work on style and get a different feeling under foot. Good for small days at your local break or take on a surf trip. One of the most versatile easy to ride boards on the market today.
Brody HP The Brody HP, a true high performance egg. Capturing the best aspects of mid length designs (Paddle, speed, flow) with high performance shortboard characteristics. (Pivot, Directional change, fin placement) We knew there was a void to fill in our mid length lineup and that was a true hyper egg as what the old school guys would call it. We went to work, and what we ended up with is a strong back foot driver that has elements of glide and flow much like traditional mid lengths. Key Features: Slight Rounded Bluntish Nose, giving it some personality but keeping the outline clean and uniform. Thinner foil and foam distribution as compared to the OG Brody Egg. Traditional rocker flow, lowish tail and medium nose with late flip. This makes for a super back foot driver that still paddles well and won't catch on steeper drops with the flip. Medium/Low tuck shortboard style rails. Shortboard style bottom contours with a hard edge in tail which pairs perfectly with your tried and true set of fins. If you are a thruster guy ride it as so, if you are a quad guy ride it as so. I would size this board in the 7ft range if you want to maximize paddle and wave catching. I would size it shorter if you want to maximize performance in tight radius turns and/or live in a place with steep tight pockets. Stock Sizes: 6’4 x 20 1/4” x 2 3/4” 38L 6’6 x 20 1/2” x 2 3/4” 40L 6’8 x 20 3/4” x 2 3/4” 42L 6’10 x 21” x 2 3/4” 43.5L 7’0 x 21 1/4” x 2 7/8” 46L 7’2 x 21 1/2” x 2 7/8” 48L 7’4 x 21 5/8” x 2 7/8” 50L 7’6 x 21 3/4” x 2 7/8” 51L 7’8 x 21 7/8” x 2 7/8” 53L Whos this for? All Skill Levels, Preferably those that come from riding shortboards. Wave Size? 2 ft – 6 feet, Loves waves with a wall and or defined pocket whether its a point break or beach break. Hows this compared to other models in same category? The Brody HP falls in the top end range of our eggs in terms of wave size and performance. It's a perfect board for aging short boarders or even younger short boarders looking to get into riding mid lengths. It's a great travel board for wide playing fields or tiring arms after a week of riding thinner shortboards. Even weekend warriors that work all week and want to get out and rip on the weekends but need the length and the paddle to compete in crowds. Customers have ridden this board well above the initial intention for the board in places like Cloud break Fiji and Macaroni's Indo, and said it fit perfect in those waves.
Butters The Beachbreak especial. The Butters was made to make nose riding those summer days in small beach break waves easier. Designed and stamped as a main stay by local long boarding experts Matt Landon and Jenna Knight. Key Features: Wide Rounded Squash "Scoop" tail. This helps create large amounts of suction to the tail which counter acts the riders weight up on the nose. The Scoop adds an E-brake characteristic to the board as well for speed control in the pocket. Wide round nose, creates a staple platform to spend your days on the nose. Both the nose and tail width make the outline more parallel which helps with paddling and trim speed. Reverse Rocker, Less than the Omega but still: Low Nose Medium Tail. Very easy to walk up and back. Designed to be ridden in the middle and forward on the board. Aggressive turned up rails (more than the Omega) makes this board go in all conditions, smooth waves and summer chop. This is our newest additional to our log lineup and is slowly becoming a crowd favorite. Stock Sizes: 9’0 x 23 x 2 3/4 9’2 x 23.25 x 2 3/4 (Jenna Dims) 9’4 x 23.38 x 2 7/8 (Matt Dims) 9’6 x 23.5 x 2 7/8 (Curtis Dims) 9’8 x 23.75 x 3 9’10 x 23.88 x 3 10’0 x 24 x 3 1/8 Whos this for? All Skill Levels, Beginner to Pro Wave Size? 1/2 ft – 4 feet, Loves beach break conditions that aren't always lined up and perfect. Hows this compared to other models in same category? The Butters is meant to be ridden the same length or perferably shorter than the Omega and Pig. The wide nose and tail will allow you to cut down on length, fit in tight beach break waves more, while still gliding like a good paddling log. If you want to have a buttery smooth noserider, the Butters is for you.
The Cavern, Symbolic for the waves its deemed for. The Ultimate Step Up / Travel Board This is your Jordy Model’s big brother, a go to board when the waves get above your comfort zone. The Cavern loves crazy hurricane swells and frigid winter nor’easters. It is made to paddle against the grain, and keep the high line in the tube. Outline curve and foam distribution have been focused under the chest region, and then dissipates from there on out. This is to help ease of paddle and provide a dependable feel under foot. Nice smooth round tail helps with hold but not too sticky like a gun. The board is made so that when you go from your everyday board to the Cavern, you will feel right at home. We recommend you order this board a few inches longer than your everyday board, and 1/4″ wider/thicker. Jesse Hines rides his at 5’11 x 19 x 2.38 ~ 28L
Channel Twin Fin ~ Australian Inspired Twin Fin designed to increase your wave count and allow you to explore a completely new sensation on a wave. This model is super unique to our line up of boards, it can be ridden as a shorter more eggy style of board or can be scaled up to be a mid length paddle machine. We took aspects of our Midlength Mind Explander and blended them with our Profish. Creating a Midlength / Eggy Performance Twin fin. This board comes standard with 4 deep channels giving you bite and grip, channeling water through the exit of the tail. The twin keel fins give you tons of drive and projection, with a freeing sensation as you fly down the line. We recommend this board with our signature channel twin template keel. Our signature fin set has quite a bit of base and rake which blends perfectly with the longer rail line of the channel twin. If you are nervous about going all in on the Twin, we can throw a thruster box on it to ease your comfort. If ordering the channel twin as a 6’2 or under, you might want to consider our Profish Pivot Set as your fin choice. As we take a board and squash it down, we shorten the rail line and the Profish Pivot fin template works better with the shorter rail line on the smaller channel twins. We know that sounds super complicated, but we just want to maximize every ounce of performance.
When I think about shortboards, I don’t want to have 5 boards, I want 1 board, always in the car that you can take out in almost anything with a pocket and shred it. The original shortboard we offered was the Jordy Model. As years have gone by we have refined that into an even more high performance, easy paddling, easy to get up and going shortboard. This model has been tested and beloved by local pros Colin Herlihy and Sam Deeley. Aspects about this board- Wider nose, straighter overall outline which aids in paddle power. Lower tail rocker, higher nose rocker for back footed, drivey surfing. Low forgiving sensitive rails. We recommend Thumb tail for barrels, squash tail for mushier pivotal surfing, swallow for little extra spicy rail surfing. Dims can be adjusted to fit your build. Colin – 6’1 x 20.25 x 2.75 ~ 37 L Sam – 6’1 x 19.75 x 2.5 ~ 32L
We love progression. That’s what this board is about. Local legend Raymond Stevens came to us wanting a fish he could take to Nias and surf big barrels on. We already had a solid base for a fish with our Profish, but this one needed some tweaks to allow more control and fit more tight of pockets. We started by taking out some of the center width, this straightened the outline adding drive. We then pulled in the tail to give this board more control. We added nose rocker to allow the board to navigate steeper drops and through the tube. The foil, is thinner, less San Diego style, this allows the board to feel more performance / shortboard style. It also allows more flex overall. Something we didn’t anticipate was how many people would get this board for smaller everyday beach break style waves. Everything we did to make it good for better waves, actually translated well to the everyday surfer in everyday waves that wanted a fish to surf more high performance. Stoked on this! Hope you enjoy.
New for 2022, the Lil Jon model. This design came when we experienced a summer flat spell like no other. After being on a longboard for 2-3 months straight we started to get the itch to ride a shortboard again, except the waves were completely too small for that piece of equipment. So back to the drawing board. We went back to the original Dave model, which was a wider nose / wider tail step down groveler shortboard. We squashed down that plan shape on the Dave model, and combined with a fishy rocker, a rocker very much like the profish / apache, tested it and tweaked it a few times until what we have today. This board is slightly narrower than most of the pure grovelers which helps keep the board loose in the pocket in small waves, but still has the wide nose/tail for glide in mush. This board is left fairly full, like most grovelers or top water boards but a refined rail and tail for bite. I would order it around the same Length as your Profish / Apache Model, which enough thickness to support your recommended volume in the groveler range.
Long FISH / MID Fish / Trim Fish When I think of the best sessions I have had on this board, I imagine sitting on the outer sandbar picking off peelers and connecting sections all the way to the beach. Effortless smooth surfing, nothing too rash. It never leaves my car all summer long. Much easier than hauling around a log, less drag as a twin fin making it the fastest mid in our lineup. I recommend it with our Pivot Keels for the most balanced feel. Mids are always a feel thing. For those that love speed / flow / glide of a twin fin, but in a longer more stretched out package this is the board for you. Long period walled-up hurricane swells or those sneaky little spring south swells it really lights up. Good for all levels and abilities, we believe that having a board like this helps surfers draw new lines and have more fun.
Magic Matt Egg The Magic Matt, The backstory comes from our buddy Matt Landon who has ordered big eggs, short eggs, thin eggs, carbon eggs, triple stringer eggs, and of all the eggs over all the years he just came back to this hand shape 7'2 yellow magic egg. What makes it magic is the board is incredibly balanced. The Magic Matt fits perfectly in the Brother Egg lineup. It is an in between'er egg, that is more performance feeling than the OG Brody Egg but not as shortboard feeling as the Brody HP. It's an egg for those that want to do more on the wave, but still want to keep the flow. Long story short, if Matt who is the ultimate egg surfer says it's his favorite egg, then we should make it a model and start offering it to everyone so that's what we did. Key Features: Clean balanced outline and foil. Nothing too extreme, the overall rocker is more than the OG Brody but less than the Brody HP. Nose and Tail width are similar to the OG Brody. The Rail Thickness is similar to the Brody HP. More flip in the nose than the OG Brody, less than the HP. More Tail rocker than the OG Brody, less than the Brody HP. Reading this you will see why I said this model sits perfectly in between our 2 tried and true eggs. Stock Sizes: 6’4 x 20 15/16” x 2 7/16” 37L 6’6 x 21” x 2 1/2” 39L 6’8 x 21 1/16” x 2 9/16” 41L 6’10 x 21 1/8” x 2 5/8” 43L 7’0 x 21 3/16” x 2 11/16” 45L 7’2 x 21 1/4” x 2 3/4” 48L 7’4 x 21 5/16” x 2 13/16” 50L 7’6 x 21 3/8” x 2 7/8” 53L 7’8 x 21 7/16” x 2 15/16” 55L 7’10 x 21 1/2” x 3” 58L 8’0 x 21 9/16” x 3 1/16” 60L Whos this for? All Skill Levels, Preferably by those that love the classic single fin egg feel with a thinner more performance foil. Fin Setup: 2+1 or Pure Single Single + Side bites: go same inches or 1/2” smaller than length of board in inches. (Weight / Skill Depending) Ex. 7’0 MM pairs with a 7”- 6.5” center fin / 3 1/4” – 3 1/2” side fins. Pure single: go same inches or 1” more of fin as length of board. (Weight / Skill Depending) Ex. 7’0 MM pairs with a 7”-8” Fin (Weight / Skill Depending) means lighter weighted rider or more skilled rider go with the lower end of fin depth. Heavier weight or less skilled go on the upper end of fin depth. Less fin = Loose/Easy to turn. More fin = More Drive / Hold Wave Size? 1 ft – 4 feet, All style waves from mushy to steep and punchy. Hows this compared to other models in same category? The Magic Matt sits right in between. I think more skilled surfers that ride alternative style boards will really gravitate to this design. This design will allow them to still feel the trim, speed, and glide but have some spice to it as well. I think women will benefit from the overall thinner foil. This aspect will help them duck dive the board, engage the rail and turn the board, and honestly if you talk to my wife just carrying the board. It's not a big bulky board and that's part of what makes it magic. If you love riding eggs and or have one of our other 2 eggs, I highly recommend you give the Magic Matt a try.
