Magic Matt Egg
The Magic Matt, The backstory comes from our buddy Matt Landon who has ordered big eggs, short eggs, thin eggs, carbon eggs, triple stringer eggs, and of all the eggs over all the years he just came back to this hand shape 7’2 yellow magic egg. What makes it magic is the board is incredibly balanced. The Magic Matt fits perfectly in the Brother Egg lineup. It is an in between’er egg, that is more performance feeling than the OG Brody Egg but not as shortboard feeling as the Brody HP. It’s an egg for those that want to do more on the wave, but still want to keep the flow. Long story short, if Matt who is the ultimate egg surfer says it’s his favorite egg, then we should make it a model and start offering it to everyone so that’s what we did.
Key Features: Clean balanced outline and foil. Nothing too extreme, the overall rocker is more than the OG Brody but less than the Brody HP. Nose and Tail width are similar to the OG Brody. The Rail Thickness is similar to the Brody HP. More flip in the nose than the OG Brody, less than the HP. More Tail rocker than the OG Brody, less than the Brody HP. Reading this you will see why I said this model sits perfectly in between our 2 tried and true eggs.

Fin Setup: 2+1 or Pure Single
Single + Side bites: go same inches or 1/2” smaller than length of board in inches. (Weight / Skill Depending)
Ex. 7’0 MM pairs with a 7”- 6.5” center fin / 3 1/4” – 3 1/2” side fins.
Pure single: go same inches or 1” more of fin as length of board. (Weight / Skill Depending)
Ex. 7’0 MM pairs with a 7”-8” Fin
(Weight / Skill Depending) means lighter weighted rider or more skilled rider go with the lower end of fin depth. Heavier weight or less skilled go on the upper end of fin depth. Less fin = Loose/Easy to turn. More fin = More Drive / Hold
Wave Size? 1 ft – 4 feet, All style waves from mushy to steep and punchy.
Hows this compared to other models in same category?
The Magic Matt sits right in between. I think more skilled surfers that ride alternative style boards will really gravitate to this design. This design will allow them to still feel the trim, speed, and glide but have some spice to it as well. I think women will benefit from the overall thinner foil. This aspect will help them duck dive the board, engage the rail and turn the board, and honestly if you talk to my wife just carrying the board. It’s not a big bulky board and that’s part of what makes it magic. If you love riding eggs and or have one of our other 2 eggs, I highly recommend you give the Magic Matt a try.
