Jesse Hines – Bowie Knife Twin A high performance Twin + 1 Fishy option for groveling summertime pockets. This design was in collaboration with Pro Surfer Jesse Hines. Jesse wanted a summertime fish that feels like a fish but surfs like a shortboard. This is classic Jesse Hines. What we did was take a board like our Bowie Knife that is really a 1 board quiver and tweaked it. We straightened out the back half the board going into the fish tail instead of the wide round. Whenever you change one thing you have to counter the other, so we slightly widened the nose. We can make this board as a pure twin, 5 fin, or what most people prefer Twin + 1. Beautiful yet Deadly A perfect combination of asethetic grace and lethal versatility. Possibly the one board quiver, that you can take anywhere, ride anything. Originally designed to be a forgiving small wave rocket, upon further testing we discovered this design to perform extremely well as a bigger wave tube shooter. This board has a forgiving rocker, a generous outline curve, and a fuller rail. Making this board super user friendly, even to those not used to riding shortboards. The Bowie is a main stay in our line up of boards and will continue to be for years to come. New for 2024, The Brody Egg HP! We are always trying to progress, take something everyone loves and try to improve on it. For performance style surfers, riding a single fin or even a 2+1 is like walking on the moon. So we wanted to design a board that will still stay familiar to those surfers in a longer stretched out package. The Brody HP has a pulled in nose and tail from the original. It also has more rocker overall. Fits tighter in the pocket for barrel riding and precision turning. The rails are full and soft which keeps foam in the board to give you the same paddle and the glide of the OG, but this design wants to be pushed hard off the tail. The 5 fin option gives you versatility of and allows you to tailor the board for your waves and your approach. The Cavern, Symbolic for the waves its deemed for. The Ultimate Step Up / Travel Board This is your Jordy Model’s big brother, a go to board when the waves get above your comfort zone. The Cavern loves crazy hurricane swells and frigid winter nor’easters. It is made to paddle against the grain, and keep the high line in the tube. Outline curve and foam distribution have been focused under the chest region, and then dissipates from there on out. This is to help ease of paddle and provide a dependable feel under foot. Nice smooth round tail helps with hold but not too sticky like a gun. The board is made so that when you go from your everyday board to the Cavern, you will feel right at home. Channel Twin Fin ~ Australian Inspired Twin Fin designed to increase your wave count and allow you to explore a completely new sensation on a wave. This model is super unique to our line up of boards, it can be ridden as a shorter more eggy style of board or can be scaled up to be a mid length paddle machine. We took aspects of our Midlength Mind Explander and blended them with our Profish. Creating a Midlength / Eggy Performance Twin fin. This board comes standard with 4 deep channels giving you bite and grip, channeling water through the exit of the tail. The twin keel fins give you tons of drive and projection, with a freeing sensation as you fly down the line. We recommend this board with our signature channel twin template keel. Our signature fin set has quite a bit of base and rake which blends perfectly with the longer rail line of the channel twin. If you are nervous about going all in on the Twin, we can throw a thruster box on it to ease your comfort. If ordering the channel twin as a 6’2 or under, you might want to consider our Profish Pivot Set as your fin choice. As we take a board and squash it down, we shorten the rail line and the Profish Pivot fin template works better with the shorter rail line on the smaller channel twins. We know that sounds super complicated, but we just want to maximize every ounce of performance.
When I think about shortboards, I don’t want to have 5 boards, I want 1 board, always in the car that you can take out in almost anything with a pocket and shred it. The original shortboard we offered was the Jordy Model. As years have gone by we have refined that into an even more high performance, easy paddling, easy to get up and going shortboard. This model has been tested and beloved by local pros Colin Herlihy and Sam Deeley. Aspects about this board- Wider nose, straighter overall outline which aids in paddle power. Lower tail rocker, higher nose rocker for back footed, drivey surfing. Low forgiving sensitive rails. We recommend Thumb tail for barrels, squash tail for mushier pivotal surfing, swallow for little extra spicy rail surfing. Dims can be adjusted to fit your build. We love progression. That’s what this board is about. Local legend Raymond Stevens came to us wanting a fish he could take to Nias and surf big barrels on. We already had a solid base for a fish with our Profish, but this one needed some tweaks to allow more control and fit more tight of pockets. We started by taking out some of the center width, this straightened the outline adding drive. We then pulled in the tail to give this board more control. We added nose rocker to allow the board to navigate steeper drops and through the tube. The foil, is thinner, less San Diego style, this allows the board to feel more performance / shortboard style. It also allows more flex overall. Something we didn’t anticipate was how many people would get this board for smaller everyday beach break style waves. Everything we did to make it good for better waves, actually translated well to the everyday surfer in everyday waves that wanted a fish to surf more high performance. Stoked on this! Hope you enjoy.
New for 2022, the Lil Jon model. This design came when we experienced a summer flat spell like no other. After being on a longboard for 2-3 months straight we started to get the itch to ride a shortboard again, except the waves were completely too small for that piece of equipment. So back to the drawing board. We went back to the original Dave model, which was a wider nose / wider tail step down groveler shortboard. We squashed down that plan shape on the Dave model, and combined with a fishy rocker, a rocker very much like the profish / apache, tested it and tweaked it a few times until what we have today. This board is slightly narrower than most of the pure grovelers which helps keep the board loose in the pocket in small waves, but still has the wide nose/tail for glide in mush. This board is left fairly full, like most grovelers or top water boards but a refined rail and tail for bite. I would order it around the same Length as your Profish / Apache Model, which enough thickness to support your recommended volume in the groveler range.
Long FISH / MID Fish / Trim Fish When I think of the best sessions I have had on this board, I imagine sitting on the outer sandbar picking off peelers and connecting sections all the way to the beach. Effortless smooth surfing, nothing too rash. It never leaves my car all summer long. Much easier than hauling around a log, less drag as a twin fin making it the fastest mid in our lineup. I recommend it with our Pivot Keels for the most balanced feel. Mids are always a feel thing. For those that love speed / flow / glide of a twin fin, but in a longer more stretched out package this is the board for you. Long period walled-up hurricane swells or those sneaky little spring south swells it really lights up. Good for all levels and abilities, we believe that having a board like this helps surfers draw new lines and have more fun.
We all have those special boards when we were kids that we wish we could get back again. This board is that board. It’s a modern take on a classic shape I had when I was a kid. Low fishy entry rocker, medium kick out the tail, flat deck, modern single/double bottom, modern rail tuck, modern foil, modern shortboard weight with the glass job. Its takes everything we have learned with building modern high performance boards and blending that with a forgiving easy to ride, easy to catch waves, old school outline and shape. This board is truly a one board quiver and can be taken out 95% of days here on the east coast. You can ride it as a Tri / Quad / Twin + 1. The Omega is the 2nd sibling in our Log family. This board has Australian Influence in the design, looking at some of the boards guys were riding in the 70s. Clean parallel outline keeps things casual. One unique thing with the Omega is the stub nose, designed to mimic our nature curves of our feet. This log has 50/50 rails which make it the perfect combination of speed and control. This board will paddle like a glider and be super stable as you walk your way toward the nose. Ideally made for more soft, crumbly waves. Good for reef breaks or even beach breaks in the right conditions. Perfect for summer.
